Gordon  and Maisie Stevenson

A Celebration of Life Visitation for Gordon and Maisie will be held at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, in Gower, at 11 a.m. on June 17 followed by a Graveside Service with Military Honors at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Allen Cemetery, in Gower.

Gordon Stevenson

Gordon Stevenson passed away Dec. 28, 2022, in Palmview, Texas. 

Gordon was born in Boyd, Nebraska, on Oct. 30, 1930, to Clifford and Leitha Stevenson. They moved to St. Joseph where he grew up. Gordon graduated from Lafayette High School in St. Joseph in 1948. He joined the Navy right after high school and he served until 1958.

Gordon married Maisie Irene Brumage on June 7, 1958, and they remained married until her death in 2019. They resided for 40 years in Gower, Missouri, where they raised their five boys.

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Leitha; his brother, Larry; and his wife, Maisie.

He is survived by his five boys, Keith, Jesse, Tim, Larry and Bart; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Maisie Stevenson

Maisie Irene (Brumage) Stevenson, 81, passed away July 7, 2019, in McAllen, TX.

She was born in Lumberport, West Virginia, in 1938. She graduated high school in Painesville, Ohio.  Maisie served three years in the Navy.

On June 7, 1958, she married Gordon D. Stevenson. They resided in Gower, Missouri, for 40 years before retiring to Mission, Texas, in 2010.While in Gower, Maisie worked at the local supermarket and substitute taught at East Buchanan High School.  She was an assistant librarian at the Smithville Public Library in Smithville, Missouri.

Maisie was active in the Mount Moriah United Methodist church.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Francis V. Brumage and Martha (Edgell) Brummage; and three brothers, Fred, Tom and Don Brumage.

She is survived by: her five children: Keith, Jesse, Tim, Larry and Bart; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judith Baston and Virginia Brumage; and one brother, Russel Gould.

Maisie was a kind, and generous person and forgiving to a fault. She will be missed by all that knew her.
