Shirley Faye Watson, 65, of Stewartsville, MO passed away Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Gower Convalescent Center.

She was born on November 2, 1942 to Theron Gilbert and Mildred Naomi (Everett) Hickman near Hemple, MO where she grew up and in 1960 graduated from Gower High School.

On January 6, 1961 she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Lee Watson. After their marriage they lived on the family farm in the Starfield Community where they made their home. Her husband, Bob passed away on September 19, 2004.

Shirley worked for the Gower Convalescent Center and the East Buchanan School.

She was a member of the Bethany Christian Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and was involved with various church activities. Shirley was also a long time member of the Mt. Zion Ladies Aid and was a 4-H Leader.

Shirley was also preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by son, Phil Watson and wife, Nettie, Stewartsville; daughter, Alice Watson, St. Joseph, MO; two grandsons, Steve Watson and wife, JoAnne, Stewartsville, and Robbie Watson and fiance’, Carrie Schwarz; sister, Mary Williams and husband Larry, Stewartsville; foster sisters, Linda Lang and husband, Jack, Hereford, AZ, and Donna Roach, Hallsville, MO; brothers-in-law, J.C. and Bill Watson, both of St. Joseph, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 17^th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

Burial: Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gower,

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
